What flaws should I look for in a Vintage(used) guitar?

there’s a Les Paul I want that sounds awesome but it’s used, I didn’t buy it then and there because I knew I wasn’t going to give a proper assessment , especially being so excited for it..

It’s a 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom, sounds fine and everything seems to be seated right.. anything I should look for ? or that i should ask the sales guy?

Which Fender guitar should I buy?

I’m getting a Fender electric guitar for the holidays but I can’t decide what model to pick. Should I get a Fender Vintage Hot Rod ‘57 Stratocaster or an Eric Clapton Stratocaster? I love to play tones that range from vintage to metal.

Vintage Acoustic Ibanez. Should I sell?

So i picked up a vintage acoustic Ibanez guitar about 5 months back for $80 in an op-shop. I need to raise money for my new Gretsch electromatic so I want to sell it wondering if I was worth something. So seeing as I go to TAFE, a guy who works the storeroom wants to buy it off of me.

the guitar is sunburst cherry, has gold plate reading R/S on the headstock just above the nut. Ivory double inlays on the guitar fret board and a adjustable bridge.
It came with a acoustic sound hole Schetter pickup that works
and a Acoustic case that is really cool with metal boarders to stop damage.
The guitar itself has afew tiny dints and dents with no cracks. Looks really nice when I polish it up and clean the sucker.
Found out the age is ranging between 1976-1977

I took it to the guy and didnt know what to quote him, but he seamed to like it a fair bit.

So price range people? In AUD

What do you think it should go for?

What should I look for when buying a vintage guitar?

I love Fender Jazzmaster guitars, but I only own newer reissues. There is a store near me that has several vintage jazzmasters from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. What should I look for when testing/examining the guitars to ensure that I don’t get ripped off/buy a bad guitar.
